The Woodlands
The Woodlands is a master planned community on 28,000 acres of flourishing woods, located roughly 28 miles north of downtown Houston in Montgomery and Harris counties. Even though this is home to about 120,000 residents (est. 2021), the development of the Woodlands maintained much of the original forestation, providing a more natural, arboreal, secluded atmosphere in the suburbs.
The Woodlands is organized into 8 villages, each featuring varying amenities including parks, hike and bike trails, golfing and commercial centers and a variety of different types of housing. Today, there are 148 parks and 220 miles of hike and bike trails.
The Woodlands really does exude the feeling of having it all. Even though Houston is a mere 30 minutes away, you might find everything you need close to home. There is an abundance of great social amenities, including the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion an enormous music venue that attracts top names in music which is located right on the Woodlands Waterway.
